PAAIA OGHAB Internship Program

Opportunities for Growth, High Achievement, and Betterment

The PAAIA OGHAB (Opportunities for Growth, High Achievement, and Betterment) Internship Program provides summer internship opportunities for young Iranian Americans in a variety of fields and disciplines. The program matches qualified Iranian American youth with internships in their field of interest in organizations and companies nationwide.

The goal of the program is to provide interns with the opportunity to learn about and gauge their interest in their field of study while offering them with hands-on experience in a structured work environment. OGHAB interns will have their experience complemented with PAAIA events as well as opportunities to network with and/or be mentored by prominent Iranian Americans in their field of interest.

Internships are available for four, six, or eight week periods during the summer only. Specific dates will be determined by the organization offering the internship. Please see below for additional information about the internship application and process.

The OGHAB internship program is made possible by a generous contribution from an anonymous PAAIA donor.

Applicants are required to:

Application Process & Deadline

Deadline: May 21, 2015

Individuals who apply for the OGHAB Internship Program will be first evaluated on the merit of their educational and professional experiences. Applicants who proceed past the evaluation stage will be matched with organizations that best represent their interests.

All applicants must complete and submit the PAAIA OGHAB Program Application Form, along with a résumé, transcript, and references to

Late applications will not be reviewed. Decisions regarding selection into the internship program are final.

Housing, transportation, and other logistics are the responsibility of the intern. It is recommended that applicants consider these issues if they choose to apply for internships outside of their state of residence.

Follow-Up and Feedback

Interns will be asked to participate in a follow-up process, which will include, at a minimum, completing a survey and a blog or article regarding their internship for the PAAIA newsletter. PAAIA will highlight OGHAB Interns and their experiences in both the PAAIA e-newsletter and on our website.
