Sherry Hakimi serves as the Executive Director of Strategy & Marketing for the Workforce Development Division in the City of New York. In her role as Executive Director, Sherry is responsible for division-wide strategic planning and manages the City's Workforce1 brand. Shortly before joining the New York City government, Sherry graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School with a Master in Public Policy degree, Business and Government Policy concentration. In 2011-2012, Sherry worked with the Office of Iranian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State on a report analyzing U.S.-Iran negotiations and negotiation strategy. Prior to HKS, Sherry worked in marketing across the private, nonprofit, and academia sectors.
Sherry has been actively involved with several Iranian and Iranian-American organizations, serving as a research associate on an AIDS-education social research project in Tehran in 2006, as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) from 2007-2009, and as Chapter Co-Lead for Shabeh Jomeh Boston from 2007-2012.
